Start a Habit Challenge to Decrease Climate Impact!

Some examples of habit challenges to decrease your climate impact can be seen below. Remember that they can be as short as a few weeks, but the longer you commit to these habit changes, the more of a positive impact you will have!

  1. Take shorter showers. Water consumption in the U.S. is continuously rising, and the amount of fresh-water available for usage is decreasing.
  2. Wash clothes in cold water. It takes around five times more energy to run a load in hot water compared to running that same load in cold water.
  3. Choose car-free commuting. Depending on where you live, biking might be an option for you!
  4. Eat less meat. Livestock-rearing is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Swapping meat for veggies, beans, tofu, or other meat-alternatives can cut your carbon impact by as much as 25 percent.
